Sorry I have not updated sooner but life has been hectic. It is the end of the school year and that means school performances and parent conferences. Each one on its own consume every minute of your life let alone both at the same time. Our computer was broken and Kona was getting into trouble at home. (I don't recommend a dog eating 10 english muffins)
Jack is hilarious and he thinks so himself. He will laugh at himself or start laughing if you are laughing. He is a comedian like his father already. He knows how to impress the ladies and has picked up on this shy game. The game goes like this, he stares at people, they wave at him and he smiles and buries his head into my shoulder. He'll look up and it starts all over. He'll look at you but don't even think about coming near him, he will come to you if he wants you to touch him.
He loves escalators! We have been to the mall a couple of times recently and he will be content for quite a while standing at the bottom of the escalators watching them move down.
Eating and sleeping are two tough topics in our house right now. Jack will love chicken for a couple of bites and then decide he doesn't like it and spits it out. He has noticed my frustration with this and now laughs when he does it. His likes and dislikes change minute to minute and day to day. Sleeping... someone doesn't want to go to bed at night in their crib. He will fall asleep in our arms, but the second we lay him down in the crib he is wide awake and standing up. If we lay him down in our bed he is out the minute his head is down. We don't get it and we are going crazy over this. He used to be so good about going to bed. Jack is the big softy in the house. If Little Jack is crying for more then 5 minutes he is upstairs picking him up...hmmmm I wonder why we have a problem.
Jack had his 1 year physical and a couple of shots. It was a very traumatic day for him at the Dr. Now that he has to be held down for shots b/c he moves so much you would think he was being tortured with the amount of screaming that comes out of the little guy. Not only do they give you shots at this appt. but you have to have blood drawn. Adults don't like blood drawn let alone a 1 year old. So you can imagine how that went after he had his round of shots. Besides all that Jack is very healthy, drinking too much milk and a little skinny still. I don't know what else to feed the kid especially when he spits out all of his food.
Jack is still in swimming lessons and they are going GREAT! He is the only kid that doesn't cry in our group. He has started to kick when he is supposed to and has no problem going underwater. He takes a little breath right before going under and kicks his little legs to try and get up to the surface. I am so proud of him. Next we need him to start blowing bubbles. He is a little fish at heart!
All in all we are doing great. We are ready for summer and all the fun things we get to do outside with our beautiful San Diego weather. It's beach time. He's not to sure what to think of the sand, which is funny b/c I can't stand sand.
We're off to a Padre game on Thursday so I will take some pictures while we are there and post them this week.
We hope everyone is well and happy summer!
